LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A six-year-old boy was hospitalized Monday morning after being struck by a school bus, authorities said.

Las Vegas Metro police reported the incident near the intersection of Cheyenne Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard North about 6:40 a.m.

Police said the child was transported to University Medical Center Trauma with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers did not say if the boy was in a crosswalk or if he was getting off the bus.

There were no traffic closures due to the incident, but authorities advised caution for motorists traveling in the area.
