KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
Firefighters battled a blaze on the city's far east side Thursday morning.
The fire started shortly after 5 a.m. at a vacant home in the 3000 block of Farley Avenue, in a neighborhood east of Interstate 435 and north of U.S. Highway 40.
Crews were in a defensive mode when they arrived, and they became concerned with embers from the fire blowing throughout the neighborhood and burning trees. The fire caused the home's roof and floor to collapse.
The fire department also had difficulty getting enough water pressure at the fire scene.
