KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
Police are investigating a sexual assault at the Maple Woods Community College campus.
The assault took place on the campus just outside the Learning Resources Building located in the middle of the campus.
Campus police were called to the building near Highway 152 and Barry Road about 7:30 p.m. Monday after a report of a man armed with a knife attacked someone.
Police have not said whether the victim was a woman, student or faculty member.
According to an alert from campus officials, the man was wearing blue jeans and white Nike tennis shoes.
Authorities are asking everyone to be alert, aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity immediately
