Missouri man accused of abusing 2-month-old

STOVER, MO (KCTV) -

A Missouri man is behind bars after a 2-month-old was admitted to the hospital with a head injury.

Joshua Michael Gerlach, 32, of Stover, MO, is charged with abuse of a child with serious injury.

Stover police arrested Gerlach after authorities in Jefferson City contacted them when the child was brought to the Capital Region emergency room last Monday.

Doctors determined the child had been abused.

Investigators have not said what relationship Gerlach has to the child, but lived in the same town as the injured infant.

Gerlach is being held at the Morgan County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.
