KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
After two months on the road, a local construction worker is happy to be back home for the holidays.
It was the longest David Dwyer had ever been away from his 4-year-old son.
Dwyer works for a construction company and has to travel a lot for work.
"He goes in and out of town, probably anywhere from two to three times a year," Dwyer's wife, Tanya Dwyer, said.
He is currently working in Seattle, the farthest away he has had to work since his son, Brody, was born.
"We certainly miss him every time he goes out, but this time he has been out of town for two months," Tanya Dwyer said.
As the father finally arrived and hugged his son for the first time in two months, Tanya Dwyer couldn't contain her emotions.
"Oh my heart was pounding, and we are just glad for him to be home. We've missed him," she said.
With the whole family together they don't need big plans, except spend as much time together as they can before separated again.
Unfortunately, David Dwyer has to go back to Seattle for work next week and won't be back home until Christmas.
"Today he's got his daddy home, and that's the best feeling in the world," Tanya Dwyer said.
