ATA bus, cars collide, injuring 11 in south KC

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Eleven people were taken to area hospitals following an accident in south Kansas City involving a metro bus and two cars early Tuesday morning.

It wreck happened about 7:45 a.m. on Bannister Road just west of U.S. Highway 71 as a handful of ambulances had been dispatched to the scene.

Two of the injured may have been children, but it is not known if the children were on the bus or in the car.

Police say the bus struck a gray car as it was pulling away from a bus stop. The car then spun into another car.
