
Magnolia's Executive Chef and owner Shanita McAfee, along with five other celebrated female chefs, will take over the Historic River Market on Saturday, Nov. 17 to host the Chocolate Lovers Wine & Dine. The evening will begin at 7:30 p.m. with a VIP cocktail hour and chef meet-and-greet.
The event's highlight, a wine dinner with chocolate-themed courses specially prepared by each chef, starts at 8:15 p.m.
The second course, prepared by McAfee, is a Magnolia's favorite - a spinach salad with chocolate vinaigrette.
Spinach Salad Ingredients:
1 cup spinach cleaned
1/4 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup candied walnuts
1 fresh pear
4 tablespoons chocolate vinaigrette
Chocolate Vinaigrette Ingredients:
1/4 cup vinegar
1/2 cup olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoon honey
Salt and pepper to taste
1/8 cup mini chocolate chips
Steps:
Whisk the vinegar and oil together then add honey, add seasonings, then melted mini chocolate.
Toss spinach, cranberries and pears in a small bowl and sprinkle the dressing over it.
Top with walnuts.
