Fan rises to national spotlight as Chiefs continue to plummet

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

As the Kansas City Chiefs keep losing, one beleaguered fan keeps singing.

Lifelong fan Dane Callstrom has been turning to the keyboard to belt out his frustrations, and his new song could have others feeling much better about the team's disappointing season.

With the latest Chiefs loss on Monday Night Football before a national audience, Callstrom is developing quite a name for himself.

His latest tune already has hundreds of hits on YouTube and is trending on ESPN.com.

"It's cool. It's very cool. I never thought this would get national attention," Callstrom said.

Callstrom's latest song parodies Joan Osborne's One of Us and focuses on what could have been if former head coach Todd Haley was still calling plays for the Chiefs.

Callstrom wrote the entire song while watching the Chiefs take on their former coach Monday night.

"When we were playing Todd Haley against the Steelers on Monday Night Football, I said I got to do this. It just comes to me," he said.

Like most fans, Callstrom isn't holding out much hope for the Chiefs this year.

He said he would like to see more losing that could help inspire another hit song.

Callstrom is looking to start up a band, so others may see more of him around the metro over the next few months.

Callstrom has another parody song up on Youtube called I Will Follow You Cause I am Clark. Click here to watch that.
