Water main break impacts traffic in Overland Park

OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) -

Crews are fixing a water main break that has a Johnson County road looking like a river.

The 12-inch water main break was spotted about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday by a passing Overland Park police officer on College Boulevard near Cedar Street, a few blocks west of Roe Boulevard.

A westbound lane of College Boulevard is closed to traffic, but another is open for motorists.

Crews from Johnson County Water One District hope to have water restored to the area by 10 a.m.

Six to eight businesses on both sides of College Boulevard in the area will be without water service until the water main is fixed.

No residential water customers are affected.
