KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
An overnight police standoff has come to a close in Kansas City.
It all started about 4:15 a.m. when a tipster walked into a police station saying he thought a homicide took place just down the road in the Wil-O-Rock Mobile Home Park off Blue Parkway, near Eastwood Trafficway.
"Officers took that information and went to the residence and saw a blood trail leading from the residence to the yard. We could hear someone inside and, after about an hour of trying to contact someone inside the residence, we called an OP 100 (standoff) with the evidence we have and that person wouldn't come out," Officer Darin Snapp said.
Police initiated the standoff at 5:15 a.m.
About 7:15 a.m. police said a man and a woman from the home came out and detectives talked to them. Further investigation led police to determine that the blood trail came from the victim of an assault, not a homicide. The man, in his 40s, was treated and released from an area hospital Friday.
