KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Authorities are looking for two men who attempted to rob a bank on the city's far northeast side early Tuesday morning.

The attempted robbery happened about 7:20 a.m. at the UMB Bank located at 6400 Independence Ave., just south of Winner Road.

Police say two masked men tried to force a bank employee into the bank as she was arriving for work.

When the woman told the suspects she wasn't able to get into the bank, the suspects fled the bank in what is described as a 2001 green Chevy Malibu with Missouri plates CD3M4P.

The employee was not injured.

The FBI released two pictures of men matching the suspect description and seen near the bank after the attempted bank robbery.

Anyone with information should contact the local FBI office at 816-512-8200 or the TIPS Hotline 816-474-TIPS.
