KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

How would you like a chance to take batting practice on the field at Kauffman Stadium and help a good cause at the same time?

The Royals are teaming up with area food bank Harvesters for the first Home Runs for Hunger event Saturday, Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Fans who donate three non-perishable canned food items or $2 can get a swing against a pitching machine on the field. There's a 20 swing maximum.

Fans can also shag fly balls for 15 minutes by donating $25.

The Royals will provide bats, baseballs and helmets for the event. Please note that children must be at least 48" tall to participate, and all children under the age of 17 will need a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

Family and friends are welcome to attend and can watch from the seating bowl.
