Latest killing marks 92nd homicide for Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Police are investigating the 92nd homicide of the year on the city's northeast side after a man was found dead inside an apartment.

The man was later identified as Sherman D. Hicks, 36, of Kansas City, MO.

Officers responded to a reported stabbing about 10:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Olive Street.

Authorities said the fight involved four people, resulting in Hicks' death. Three others were transported to area hospitals, one in critical condition.

Investigators haven't said exactly how each person was hurt, but a knife and gun were involved.

So far, officers have not released any charges or suspect information in the incident.
