PHOENIX (AP/CBS5) -

A Scottsdale man has been convicted in the shooting deaths of his two young sons in 2010.

A Maricopa County Superior Court jury found Andre LeTeve, 40, guilty Wednesday on two counts of first-degree murder.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty and the aggravation phase of the case will begin Monday.

They said LeTeve was a real estate broker facing financial ruin and divorce at the time of the shootings on March 31, 2010.

He was accused of shooting his 1-year-old son and 5-year-old son at the family's home and then himself in the chin before calling 911.

The children's mother was not at the house at the time of the shooting.

LeTeve's lawyer said his client denies planning the shootings. A jury must find premeditation to convict a defendant of first-degree murder in Arizona.
