Mattress Firm e-mailed the following statement in response to a KCTV5 investigation about the delivery of a used bed.
"This was an isolated delivery error, where one of our customers accidentally received the wrong mattress. Another customer purchased the same model from our clearance section and the deliveries were scheduled for the same day. As soon as we were alerted to the error, we worked closely with Ms. Echols to quickly to refund her money and replace her bed at no cost. She has since communicated she is happy. The beds pictured in this segment are not related to this situation and do not represent our commitment to offering quality products. In fact, all of our pre-owned mattress go through a strict sanitation process that is based on the most stringent state laws. These steps include the disinfection and sanitation of the item, permanent tagging of the product with the legally mandated yellow tag, and declaration that the item is pre-owned and has been sterilized according to the state requirement."
