LEAVENWORTH, KS (KCTV) -
A serial burglar has yet another conviction to add to his record and this time it involves stealing toilet paper.
The 40-year-old man was convicted this week of stealing items, including toilet paper, from a Leavenworth home. He previously had been accused of breaking into a home rather than shoveling snow.
Sean Johnson Sr. was found guilty Monday of residential burglary and felony theft from a house in the 1100 block of North 10th Street in Leavenworth.
The victim testified that on Feb. 10 she returned home. She found her residence had been wrecked with "tons of things missing," including a Blu-ray player, Nintendo Wii, jewelry, medicine, checks, some food and even toilet paper.
Leavenworth police said they received a tip three days later that led them to Johnson's home.
At the home officers found checks, IDs and letters belonging to the victim. Authorities also found the missing toilet paper.
Detectives said in an interview with Johnson that he claimed others were planting burglary evidence in his house, and that people were cleaning out items from their book bags and cars into his home.
Johnson also said that he had bought the stolen items from others and that he would never steal items like that but just come face-to-face with them and take it.
Another defendant also testified to participating in the robbery with Johnson.
Sentencing will be determined in December.
Johnson is currently serving 32 months for a previous conviction on an attempted aggravated burglary. He was accused, along with another man, of breaking into a home rather than shoveling snow. He was identified in part because the shoe prints left in the snow matched those inside the residence.
