OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) -
Some residents of an Overland Park apartment complex were briefly evacuated after what appeared to stick of dynamite was found near a dumpster.
Authorities later determined it was a road flare.
Overland Park police and firefighters were called about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday to the Wycliff West Apartments to examine the suspicious device near West 105th and Mastin streets.
The device was taken into the apartment clubhouse where an area around the clubhouse has was secured.
The Overland Park Police Department Bomb Squad was also called to the scene to investigate.
