GARDNER, KS (KCTV) -
A driver had to be cut from their car and later died after it slammed into an embankment Tuesday morning.
Gardner police said Edward Joseph Jasperse, 49, of Gardner, KS, died as a result of his injuries.
The Johnson County Sheriff's Department and Gardner police responded to the wreck about 8 a.m. Tuesday on 175th Street at Interstate 35 in Gardner, just south of New Century Airport.
The one-car accident left the driver with critical injuries, which he later died from.
For a short time 175th Street was closed, and eventually one lane was reopened.
