KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
Firefighters were called to the IRS building Wednesday on a suspicious-substance alarm.
Authorities say someone spotted a suspicious package and the security guard called the fire department.
Officials evacuated the room in which the package was found.
A hazardous material team was called out, and they went through their protocol to evaluate how to contain the suspicious substance.
The entire building was not evacuated.
The scene was cleared just before noon and officials said there was no threat to employees.
