OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) -

Police say they have found the vehicle that hit and killed a woman Tuesday night but no arrests have been made.

Police are interviewing the man officers believe was driving the van that fatally hit the woman.

Tiana J. Beall, 35, of Overland Park, died in a hit-and-run about 10:40 p.m. near West 71st Street, just east of Metcalf Avenue.

Beall was transported to an area hospital where she later died.

"I know that a neighbor called, heard some voices outside and went outside to assist," Officer Gary Mason of Overland Park police said. "He saw her laying in the street and called us at that time."

Mason stressed that detectives are still working the case to determine the circumstances that led to Beall's death.

No one witnessed the accident, but someone did hear her scream. Police say the vehicle that struck Beall was headed east on 71st Street.

The white van was found parked at a nearby church.

"We're questioning several people. We are questioning the owner of the vehicle," Mason said. "No arrest has been made."

Police initially at the scene said neighbors told officers that Beall goes on nightly walks, and lives in the neighborhood. A smashed flashlight was found near her body, police initially said.

Family members were too distraught to discuss Beall's death.

Anyone with information on about the accident is asked to call Sgt. Scott Ferguson with the Overland Park Traffic Safety Division at 913-895-6289.
