A suicidal man who had reportedly been drinking bleach held police at bay for three hours Sunday.

Police were called to a home in the 1300 block of West Bluff Drive about 9:30 a.m. in regards to a disturbance.

When officers arrived, they contacted a woman who said her boyfriend is inside the home threatening to harm himself.

She told police she believed he has been drinking bleach and may be armed with a gun.

Authorities said after several minutes of attempting to contact the suspect, an Operation 100 was initiated.  Negotiators and tactical response officers then responded to the scene.

The man was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
