KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
Before Sunday's Kansas City Chiefs game it was general manager Scott Pioli taking a piece of the spotlight.
CBS sports reported Pioli was offered a two-year extension on his contract. However, KCTV5's reporting partner, The Kansas City Star, says this just simply isn't true.
The Chiefs said the organization did not talk to CBS Sports and reiterated that chairman Clark Hunt does not "discuss people's contracts publicly."

Since Pioli was named general manger in 2009, the Chiefs record is 22-33.
Some Chiefs fans have been in support of firing Pioli and even flew a banner over Arrowhead last week calling for his firing.
Pioli was previously a front office executive for the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets and New England Patriots.
He served as director, and later vice president of player personnel for the Patriots from 2001 to 2008 and helped them win three Super Bowl championships.
Pioli has declined to comment on the report.
