KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
A water main break in south Kansas City caused low pressure or no water for some residents Saturday.
The Kansas City Water Services Department said they had a 30" water main break near Interstate 435 and Blue River Road. About 6:30 p.m., they said they were able to isolate the break and restore water pressure to customers in the area.
"Customers should not experience additional interruptions during the repair," the department said in a release.
Additionally, there were two water main breaks south of I-435 Saturday. Earlier, a main broke on 107th Terrace, just west of Holmes Road. That break has been repaired and water service has been restored. In the afternoon, there was a break at 127th Street, just east of Main Street. That break should be repaired early Sunday morning.
The water services department said emergency dispatch representatives are addressing customer calls regarding each of the main breaks.
Due to the large number of calls, some customers may have experienced long wait times or disconnection, which the department regrets. Water Services said they will provide updates to customers in those areas as more information becomes available.
