LAWRENCE, KS (KCTV) -
A University of Kansas student was injured after she was struck by a car on campus Wednesday night.
Police continue to investigate after the woman hit was just before 8 p.m. outside the Jayhawks Towers. Authorities have not issued any citations in the accident.
The woman was taken to a Topeka-area hospital with injuries to her head, but released Thursday afternoon.
Some students on campus say they are not surprised by the accident, especially at night.
"People are just flying through her not paying attention depending on what time at night it is, people might be drunk or something and sometimes it can get out of control," student Pierce Christian said.
Other students, like Alex Beglinger, feel people should be more aware of their surroundings.
"Especially right here in the Towers-area just because there is a lot if people walking in and out," Beglinger said.
Campus police are still investigating but say, car-versus-pedestrian accidents happen a lot on college campuses.
They also urge students and drivers to always be aware.
The injured student's name has not been released.
