KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -
A military team from Fort Riley, KS, was dispatched to the Kansas City area after a grenade was found.
The team arrived early Thursday to transport the device to the Army base to detonate it.
A man mowing his lawn discovered the grenade Wednesday near 35th Street and Ruby Avenue. It appears it is a MK2 pineapple-style grenade.
Police took pictures and X-rays of the grenade, but could not immediately tell whether it was active or not.
No evacuations were ordered.
