MERRIAM, KS (KCTV) -

Authorities said they are investigating a deadly wreck Tuesday afternoon, but they know for sure that at least two of the cars involved were going far too fast.

The wreck involving three vehicles occurred just off of West 67th Street, west of Interstate 35.

The woman killed was a 20-year-old from Shawnee, KS.

Police said the lanes on West 67th Street going west change from two lanes to one. The woman was trying to move over in front of a pickup truck when the pickup truck clipped the back of her car. Police said the woman's car spun out of control and she ended up in the eastbound lanes where she was hit by a minivan.

Police said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

"This was a 35 mph speed zone. An impact like that would not have happened unless they were going well over the speed limit. My advice is for drivers when you are coming up in a lane change like that is to just slow down," said Merriam Police Lt. Mike Daniel.

Investigators are reconstructing the accident, so it is unknown at this time if there will be any citations issued.

The road is still closed on 67th Street from Farley to the next street over.

There was a passenger in the minivan that went to the hospital, but the person was treated for minor injuries. The other two drivers are OK.
