WILLARD, MO (KCTV) -

A southwest Missouri man sits behind bars in connection with the murder of a 15-year-old girl whose body was found in Truman Lake, and now authorities are looking for two persons of interest.

Anthony Balbirnie, 47, led police on two different chases before he was arrested in connection with the murder of Khighla Parks. While Balbirnie hasn't been charged yet in connection with the murder, authorities said he is being held in jail on a charge out of Benton County, as well as multiple charges pending with Greene and Dallas counties.

Authorities say that Balbirnie threw something out of the vehicle during the chase, but they don't know what it was and don't recall where it happened.

Parks was last seen at her home in Willard, MO, on Sept. 20.  About two weeks later, her body was discovered by a boater near Warsaw, MO.

DNA tests confirmed it was Parks.  The cause of her death hasn't been released.

Police said they will continue talking with Balbirnie to determine more about his relationship with the girl.

After Parks left her home in Willard, she was later seen with several people at a home in Buffalo, MO. Investigators are currently trying to locate other possible witnesses to this case as well as two more persons of interest, 24-year-old Desiree L. Siddens and 39-year-old Larry L. Warner.

Anonymous tips can be reported to the Dallas County Sheriff's tips hotline at 417-345-8207.
