LENEXA, KS (KCTV) -
A large amount of marijuana was found inside a vacant landscaping business, authorities said Friday morning.
The business inside a Lenexa industrial park has been closed for some time.
Officers seized 2,700 pounds of pot worth $1.5 million. The marijuana was hidden behind walls of plastic cup boxes and was in 385 bundles.
Hundreds of boxes of plastic cups with the "Reyma" logo and brand (were found)," Lenexa police said in a statement. "Once the boxes were opened, there were two bundles of marijuana per box with the plastic cup sleeves covering the illegal drugs. This was done to make the load appear legitimate."
The facility is at 14450 Santa Fe Trail Drive.
An arrest made last weekend in Indianapolis led to the Kansas City area and the discovery at the warehouse. One person has been arrested and more arrests are expected.
Lenexa police are working with federal agents. This is likely the largest drug bust in the history of Lenexa.
