KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
Clifton Scott, 50, is being remembered in a prayer vigil Thursday evening.
A vigil was held beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Graceway Church on Blue Ridge Cutoff in Raytown, MO.
The motorist assist worker was killed on Interstate 70 on Sept. 21. Police said attorney David Murdick was driving while intoxicated when he hit Scott.
Murdick was released from the North Kansas City Hospital and was arraigned Friday afternoon in Jackson County Circuit Court. He pleaded not guilty.
Scott was putting out cones on the interstate to divert traffic from another wreck when he was hit.
A funeral will be held Saturday at St. Stephen Baptist Church on Truman Road in Kansas City, MO.
MODOT workers will honor Scott by a procession Saturday morning that will go south on Highway 71 from Truman Road to Interstate 435 west of Holmes Road. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with the funeral following that.
Scott's 51st birthday would have been this week. Just days before he was killed, MODOT officials honored him for serving 15 years with the agency.
