Investigators probe suspected arson of vacant house

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A vacant house fire early Wednesday morning is suspicious, arson investigators say.

Crews were called shortly before 4:30 a.m. Wednesday at a home on Bellefontaine Avenue just south of East 40th Street on Kansas City's east side.

No injuries were reported, and the fire did not spread to any nearby homes.

Arson investigators believe the fire is suspicious because the home was vacant, and because it appeared the fire started on the outside of the home and then spread.
