Power outage cancels classes at Belton elementary school

BELTON, MO (KCTV) -

Classes have been canceled Wednesday at Cambridge Elementary School in Belton due to no electricity.

School officials said a transformer near the school blew up and caught fire overnight, and it may take most of the day to fix it.

About 375 students attend the school located on West Cambridge Road, just west of Highway Y.
