FAIRWAY, KS (KCTV) -

KCTV5 was awarded an Emmy in the 36th Annual Mid-America Emmy awards Saturday night in downtown Kansas City.

KCTV tied in the News Excellence category awarded by the Mid-America Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. KCTV was also awarded an Emmy in the News Promo: Campaign Image and tied in the Editor: Short Form (Promo/PSA) category.

The award presentation was held for the first time in Kansas City at the Midland Theatre.

A crowd of more than 450 attended the dinner and awards gala hosted by The Weather Channel's Mike Bettes.
