KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
A driver hit and killed a pedestrian in the southbound lanes of Interstate 29 Tuesday night. It happened just south of 152 Highway in Kansas City, MO, at 9:30 p.m.
The driver of the vehicle did stop after the accident and police said the driver is cooperating.
the driver has been identified as Douglas Edward Frazier, 53. He previously lived in Joplin.
"The investigation determined that the victim had attempted to cross the interstate when he was struck and killed by a southbound vehicle," according to a news release. "The driver stopped just south of the crash scene. She was interviewed and subsequently released."
The victim has not been identified.
