NEW CENTURY, KS (KCTV) -
A train hit a person in south Johnson County early Saturday morning.
Shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday deputies responded to the area of 167th street and U.S. highway 169 to the report of a man being struck by a train. The victim was transported to an area hospital, but is expected to recover.
It is unknown why the person was walking along the tracks.
Johnson County Sheriff's detectives are assisting the Burlington Northern Railroad Police with the investigation.
