Missing KCK woman found safe, police say

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Authorities have canceled a Silver Alert for a 65-year-old woman who checked herself out of a Northland hospital against medical advice.

Police said Carol O'Brien contacted family Monday and is in good health.

O'Brien checked herself out of St. Luke's Hospital off Barry Road about 11 a.m. Saturday and drove away. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, she had recently been experiencing mental issues due to her medical conditions and medications.

She did not have all her prescribed medications with her, and the ones she did have, she did not know how to administer to herself, troopers say.

She has diabetes, high blood pressure and recently underwent back surgery.
