Police identify victim in KCK homicide

KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

Police are investigating a homicide at Third and Greeley Avenue in Kansas City, KS.

Officers were called to the scene about 9 p.m. Friday. When police arrived, they found a man lying between two houses, dead from apparent gunshot wounds. The man was later identified as 51-year-old Thomas F. Bailey of KCK.

While police investigated, they roped off a block in the area of Third and Greeley. Crime scene investigators were on scene and officers were canvassing the neighborhood for information.

Police were looking for the Bailey's truck. It was later found, but parts of it had recently been spray painted.

The Kansas City, KS, Police Department's Major Case Unit is encouraging anyone with information regarding the location of the vehicle or the shooting that lead to the homicide to please call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
