KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
Police are looking for answers after a man was shot in the head and later died following a rolling gun battle Monday night.
Officers swarmed a Kansas City neighborhood near East 33rd Street and Jackson Avenue about 8 p.m. after reports of a shooting.
When authorities arrived on the scene, they found a man suffering from life-threatening injuries. The man, identified as 27-year-old Tyree Stuckey, later died.
Police combed the neighborhood for evidence late into the evening. So far, investigators do not have any leads on the shooter.
Police said they believe Stuckey was not involved in the shooting and was struck by a stray bullet.
The AdHoc Group Against Crime is holding a prayer vigil for Kansas City's 68th homicide victim Friday at 6 p.m. at 3116 Prospect Ave.
The group said the victim is a father to six children. They are offering up to $1,000 reward through the Brian Euston Reward Fund for any information that will lead to the arrest and charges filed in the Stuckey murder case.
