OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) -

An off-duty police officer caused a heightened security alert Monday after she showed up armed at the Sprint World Headquarters in Overland Park.

Overland Park police said the off-duty Kansas City police officer used to work at the campus near West 119th Street and Nall Avenue.

Sprint Campus security contacted police about 11:30 a.m. Monday after the women entered through a side door of a building on the campus.

Officer Gary Mason, a spokesman for Overland Park police, said the woman was dressed with a police T-shirt and a badge on her belt along with a holstered weapon.

Officers were able to make contact with the woman, disarmed the off-duty officer and determined she was there for a personal visit, Mason said.
