GREENWOOD, MO (KCTV) -
A metro mayor is being investigated.
The mayor of Greenwood, MO, is under scrutiny by the Missouri Highway Patrol. The department's division of drug and crime control confirmed they are investigating Mayor Marvin Megee.
Officials were tight-lipped about the details of the investigation, but according to the Green-Summit Dispatch, the initial thrust of the investigation were pardons issued by the mayor to two individuals who were both later accused of being tied to Megee politically.
The mayor issued a statement to the paper saying the investigation has gone past that point, into other areas. He wouldn't divulge, but in his statement, he said he expects to be cleared of any wrongdoings.
KCTV5 tried to contact Megee Friday evening for comment, but wasn't successful.
