Dave Hall joined KCTV5 as an anchor of It's Your Morning and KCTV5 News at Noon in August 2012.
Dave joins anchor Alexis Del Cid, meteorologist Gary Amble and traffic reporter Natalie Puhr every weekday morning from 4:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. The team returns for KCTV5's News At Noon.
After spending 11 long years in the sleepy town of Las Vegas, Dave grew weary of the slow lifestyle and boring nightlife in Sin City. It was time for a change.
"Unless you like gambling, drinking, carousing, fancy restaurants, world class shopping, no state income tax and Wayne Newton... Las Vegas is a very dull place to live," he quipped.
A chuckling Hall added, "All kidding aside Las Vegas was a great home for my family for 11 years, but both personally and professionally I was ready for a new challenge and a more kid friendly community to raise my daughter. Kansas City is a slam dunk for both."
After graduating from the University of Nevada in 1996, Dave started his broadcast career at KRNV-TV in Reno as a photographer/sports reporter. After five years in Reno, he moved south to become sports director for KVVU-TV in Las Vegas, a sister station to KCTV5. Dave was promoted to morning anchor in 2006 and has been answering the 2 a.m. wake up calls ever5 since then.
"Las Vegas is a very quirky place to work in," Hall said. "One day I'm interviewing Mitt Romney and the next day I'm chatting with Flavor Flav. I went from a presidential candidate to the guy who wears giant clocks around his neck. It keeps you on your toes."
Dave is a huge sports fan and chances are you'll spot him at one of Kansas City's numerous sporting venues.
"Living in a city with NFL, MLB and MLS teams and NASCAR races, this is a dream come true for me. I hope there's room on their bandwagons because I'm hopping on board!"
Dave is excited about coming to Kansas City and giving KCTV5 viewers a fresh and new reason to wake up and watch starting at 4:30 a.m.
"It's Your Morning is everything a morning newscast should be," Hall said. "We are informative and educational, fun and entertaining, off-the-cuff, spontaneous and throw in a dash of sass. Bottom line... we get you out the door with what you need to know and a smile on your face."
Dave is married to his college sweetheart Bianca and has a 4-year-old daughter Jazzy. In his free time Dave likes to play softball, hit the gym, go fishing and hiking. And most importantly, spoiling his girls rotten.
