KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Two 13-year-old boys who ran away over the weekend trying to make it to California were found in Kansas City on Monday morning.

Cole Francis Johnson and Raheem Harris were found at East Eighth Street and Grand Boulevard after the car they were driving, belonging to Johnson's mother, ran out of gas.

Authorities said someone reported a suspicious car in an alley about 7:30 a.m. Monday.  The description and license plate matched the car taken by the missing teens.

When officers arrived, they found the teens sleeping in the car.

The teens are in police custody, and will be returned to Ohio, police said.

The two used a credit card Saturday night in St. Louis, police said.

They made a Facebook post at 3:02 p.m. Sunday saying they were in Kansas City hoping to reach California.  Columbus police issued an alert for the two boys Saturday night.

The pair has been using a credit card missing from one of their parents. The cardholder has now suspended the card's use.

Police said the teens stayed out all night Friday, but returned Saturday morning and apparently took Johnson's mother's 2008 BMW, dark blue four-door car.
