KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
Police are investigating two separate shootings that left one person dead and two others seriously injured.
Police said the first shooting happened about 7 p.m. Saturday either inside or just outside Jim's Diner near East 69th Street and Prospect Avenue. A neighbor said she heard the shots disrupting her neighborhood.
Both victims are expected to survive.
About an hour later, police then responded to a report of a man shot in the 500 block of Quincy Avenue, between Independence and Thompson avenues in Kansas City, MO.
The victim, 20-year-old Donald J. Bierria III, was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
A woman on scene told KCTV5 it was her brother's friend that was killed.
She said she was inside the house where a group of her brother's friends were playing dominoes on the porch and someone pulled up and shot one of the friends.
She said she rushed to help Bierria in his final moments.
Police have not made any arrests in connection to the deadly shooting.
