Missing KCK woman found safe

KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

A missing 72-year-old Kansas City, KS, woman has been found safe.

Ruby L. Sweet was found just before 7 a.m. Wednesday after she walked away from her home near 80th Terrace and Elizabeth Avenue. Sweet had been missing since 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and suffers from Alzheimer's and dementia.

A police officer found her walking near South 86th Street and Osage Avenue. She did not know her name or where she was.

Sweet was taken to an area hospital to make sure she is OK.

Her family is thankful to everyone who help in the search efforts.

Authorities as well as her family were concerned because of her health and the extremely hot weather.
