Homicide investigation under way after man shot near 31st, Booth

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A man was shot and killed in Kansas City's east side late Tuesday night.

The shooting happened about 10:30 p.m. in the 8600 block of East 31st Street.

When officers arrived, they found a man in his 20s who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead later at an area hospital. Two days later, police identified the victim as 41-year-old Eugene Pettiford.

Police do not have any suspect information.
