KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

A 65-year-old man died after an accident Saturday night in Kansas City, KS.

Authorities said Robert J. Groves, of Bonner Springs, died in the three-car wreck that happened about 7:15 p.m. on Interstate 70 near 110th Street.

Authorities said a 2007 Toyota Camry driven by a Maple Hill, KS, woman was heading west on I-70 and came over the hill at 110th St., as traffic was backed up from Kansas Highway 7 to 110th St.  The Camry, driven by Virginia Vopata-Schumacher, struck Groves' vehicle, a 2007 Ford Focus, from behind causing a chain reaction, hitting another car from behind.

Another person riding with Groves was also sent to the hospital with unknown injuries.  A passenger in the third car was reported with a possible injury.

Everyone involved in the wreck was wearing a seat belt.
