Multi-vehicle accidents snarl traffic in Johnson County

OLATHE, KS (KCTV) -

If anyone was trying to get around during morning rush hour, they may have noticed Interstate 35 was a mess in Johnson County.

Both directions of the highway were backed up because of two separate crashes involving several cars.

The first wreck happened about 6:45 a.m. near I-435 in Lenexa. Traffic backed up in the northbound lanes all the way back to 119th Street.

After that, a southbound lane was blocked near 199th Street in Olathe because of a crash involving a tractor trailer.

There are no serious injuries in either accident.
