Rolling gun battle ends in Westwood Park

WESTWOOD, KS (KCTV) -

Multiple police agencies are investigating after a rolling gun battle ended in Westwood Park.

A motorcyclist and an occupant of a car exchanged gunfire for several blocks.

No one was injured by the exchange of bullets. But the motorcyclist crashed his bike into a bench at a baseball field inside Westwood Park, which is at 47th State Line Road in west Kansas City, MO. The motorcyclist is at the University of Kansas Hospital and is expected to recover from his injuries.

The gun battle began about 3:30 a.m.  Residents in Westwood, KS, near West 47th Terrace and Rainbow Boulevard reported hearing the gunshots. 

Police spent the morning looking for shell casings along the 2200 block of 47th Street.
