Here is a list of fireworks, festivals and other Independence Day events in cities across the metro area.
KC Riverfest
Held at Berkley Riverfront Park, this annual event not only has one of the best fireworks displays in the Kansas City Metro that is choreographed to live music, but great entertainment and things to do for the whole family.
Where: Berkley Park on the River between the Heart of America and Paseo bridges.
When: Ongoing events July 4th from 1 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Jackson County 4th of July Appreciation Celebration
Celebrate America's Independence Day with appearances from Kansas City Royal alums. Discover where Jazz meets the Blues with a live performance of The David Basse Orchestra. Then end the evening with a blast – the biggest fireworks display ever in Jackson County!
Where: Longview Lake Beach (No pets or grills please)
When: Wednesday, July 4. Gates open at 6 p.m.

Parkville 4th of July Fireworks and Festival
Over 20,000 folks from around the metro head to the Northland to watch Parkville's annual fireworks display. Parkville kicks off "July 4th Blast Off" on Wednesday, July 4 when the carnival opens in the parking lot at the south end of Main Street. In addition to the carnival, this fun, family-style celebration includes a community parade, a pancake breakfast, a variety of food vendors, and, of course, the big firework finale.
Where: English Landing Park, Parkville, Mo. Fireworks shot over Missouri River.
Time: Approximately 9:30 p.m.

Corporate Woods Star Spangled Spectacular
The Corporate Woods Star Spangled Spectacular is something to see. The Fourth of July events kick off at 4 p.m. and lasts until 11 p.m. With everything from a free concert to funnel cakes, it's also one of the biggest fireworks displays in the metro.
Where: Corporate Woods, I-435 and College Blvd at 109th/Mastin.
Time: 4 p.m. until 11p.m. Fireworks start at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Independence Fireworks Display at the Mormon Visitor Center
With a name like Independence, it's almost a sure bet they'll have one heck of a display this Fourth of July.
Where: Mormon Visitor Center (big spire), 937 W. Walnut, Independence, Mo.
Time: Gates open at 8 p.m. Fireworks start at dark.

Worlds of Fun
Worlds of Fun has one of the longest standing Fourth of July celebrations in the metro. Watch fireworks from within the park or by parking on the east side of I-435 (not recommended).

Smithville Marina Fireworks Display
Smithville Marina holds its annual festivities with a huge display shot off the north end of the Smithville Dam. View at the marina, by boat, or at the Smith's Fork Park.
Where: Smithville Lake, Smithville, MO. Smith Fork Park is located at 1601 DD Highway.
Time: About 9:30 p.m. on July 4.
Gladstone Fireworks
Where: Oak Grove Park, 76th and N. Troost
Time: At dusk

Where: Liberty, MO - William Jewell College Campus

Cities of Fairway, Westwood, Roeland Park, Mission Woods and Westwood Hills
The partnership between these NE Johnson County cities provides a unique fireworks display for the community. Attendees have used the word "intimate" to describe the display as viewers get an up-close experience during the shoot. The sights and sounds are truly spectacular!

Lenexa Community Days Parade
Where: Downtown Lenexa
Time: July 4 at 10 a.m.
Celebrate the Fourth with floats, bands, antique cars and more as they wind their way through downtown Lenexa. 913-477-7100
Leawood 4th of July Celebration
Where: Leawood City Park
Time: Enjoy some great entertainment, participate in games and enjoy a variety of food vendors. Kids activities and food vendors - 5 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Musical entertainment- 7:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Fireworks start at 9:45 p.m. Free general admission.
All Access Ride / Activity Bands (for children 14 and under) - $6

Legacy Blast Fireworks Extravaganza: Lee's Summit, MO
Lee's Summit Parks and Recretion and the City of Lee's Summit invite you to a free fireworks extravaganza on Tuesday. The amazing display will be choreographed to music and simulcast on 94.9 KCMO.
