BLUE SPRINGS, MO (KCTV) -

Three people are in custody after a SWAT operation in Blue Springs.

Police said it started with a hit-and-run crash Monday afternoon.  The man driving the vehicle hit another car with a mother and two small children inside.  The mom was hurt but is out of the hospital.

Witnesses say the man then sped off and ended up at a house on Richwood Lane near Southwest Fifth Street.

That is when the SWAT team was called out about 8:15 p.m. Monday, and a normally peaceful evening was disrupted.

"It is crazy, because it is normally a real quit neighborhood, a lot of excitement tonight for sure," neighbor Gary Wise said.

At first two people came out of the house, and they were arrested on outstanding warrants.  The team then went in and found the man they were looking for hiding in the attic before 1 a.m. Tuesday.
