Police seek man who robbed Kansas City Waffle House

Posted: Updated:

Police need help locating a suspect who robbed a Waffle House on Wednesday morning.

Authorities said a man entered the Waffle House located in the 6800 block of East Front Street about 2 a.m. and placed an order. While paying for the order, he waited for an employee to open the cash register.

Police said he then put his hand underneath the front of his shirt, causing the employee to believe he was armed with a gun.

The suspect then went behind the counter, removed an unknown amount of cash from the register, and told two employees he would shoot them if they did not be quite. The suspect then fled from the scene.

No one was injured in the robbery.

The suspect is described to be in his early to mid 40s, 5'08'', with a medium build, short hair and  slightly unshaven. He was wearing a light colored button up shirt, blue jeans and lime green crocodile dress shoes.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
